Our client, a property owner/ developer employed 8build to undertake the refurbishment and fit out works over 6 floors to a complete a CAT ‘A’ finish. This enabled the building to be leased as quickly as possible. The building is located in a very desirable area and it was important that the building was completed as quickly as possible so that the client could start earning a return on their investment.
Notcutt House comprised of the striping out of the existing CAT ‘B’ fit out, existing services and plant, including the removal of some non-notifiable asbestos. Removal of the existing platform lift and entrance staircase and re-configuring of the ground floor slab to accommodate the installation of the new concrete staircase and spiral staircase.
The existing lift was extended to the lower ground floor and by doing this we needed to form a new lift pit and extend the current lift shaft, the existing lift was completely refurbished including installing new plant and lifting gear.
The ground floor roof was reconfigured to accommodate a new roof light on the main roof, alongside the refurbishment of the existing windows, façade repairs and underground drainage.
The existing pitched and slate roof was removed and replaced so it complied with Part L of the building regulations and the existing slate was retained and re-used. Installation of new VRF units, electrical distribution and lighting and a new AHU, boiler and water tank.
The finishes included new timber flooring throughout, toilet fit out on each floor, a light refurbishment to the stair core, decorations, glazing to the GF and entrance canopy and a new reception desk.
