ICAEW

Club Lounge, Moorgate

The Project

The ICAEW is responsible for organising the membership, examinations and ongoing professional development for accountants across England and Wales. The club holds numerous members and the client felt the members did not have enough recreational space on offer at the London Headquarters. They required the conversion of the old restaurant into a new lounge where the members could meet convivially.

The Members lounge consisted of the basement area being completely stripped back to shell and core and a CAT B fit out of a bottle bar, general and booth seating area, a new commercial kitchen, associated toilets.

Overcoming Challenges

The main challenge was the occupied and operational status of ICAEW. With numerous events and a fully functioning office flexibility, noisy working and logistics were key to the running of this project. Having previously worked within the building, we built strong working relationships with the events team who helped programme noisy working hours. The events diary was kept up to date daily so we can factor out any disruptions.

Existing services and their validation was also a priority for this project, this was managed by undertaking various surveys before any works commencing.
