The client, a property developer with a personal interest in procuring the contractor, required the conversion of an existing 6 storey commercial use building into 4 luxury apartments and a 2 storey penthouse, located in the heart of Mayfair. The works created an additional 2 storeys for the penthouse suite and represented a major structural refurbishment of the existing building which included infilling the communal staircases, applying specialist joinery, creating a new core area with new lift, infrastructure plant and services, façade works and windows.

The lower floor of the penthouse houses a private art gallery space, library, family room and master bedroom suite with private terrace, walk-in dressing room and master bathroom. Upstairs a lounge/music room was constructed with an atelier window and an 8-12 seat dining area with family kitchen and breakfast room. The grand drawing room showcases floor to ceiling picture windows and sliding glass doors opening onto a beautiful winter garden. Glass folding walls enable this entertaining space to be used all year around. All apartments include a modern fully integrated control system where owners are able to control their environment, lighting, blinds and sound system. This project required a significant scaffold structure to support a temporary roof, hoists and welfare facilities which were partly cantilevered through window openings.
