Doughty Street Chambers is a firm of barristers who’s chambers are split between 2 Edwardian town houses, they are located either side of Doughty St in WC1.
The aim of the project was to refurbish the ground and basement floors of 53 – 54 and the ground floor of 10-11 Doughty St, to create a modern and fresh working environment for what is an extremely busy law firm.
The works were completed whilst the buildings were still heavily occupied with a rapid programme.
- Doughty Street Chambers encompassed a rapid programme for which the lead times on both the mechanical and electrical and joinery items were key to the success of the project. The early orders of long lead items was crucial to the success of the project.
- Another challenge was the fact that the buildings were both fully occupied for the duration of the works. The key to reducing the risk of this challenge was good continued communication and agreed working hours.
