Subcontractor Engagement Launch for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice

Subcontractor Engagement Launch Day

We were delighted to host our Subcontractor Engagement Launch last night at Devonshire Terrace for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice. Caroline Quentin was our special guest who showed her great enthusiasm for the cause and the project.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice has operated a ‘hospice at home’ service in North London since 2006 but has never had a building of its own to help support the many children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in its care. The time has come to put this right and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice is seeking support for a multi-million-pound build project that will create a national centre of excellence for children’s hospices in the Capital. This new building will allow them to provide support in a 21st century hospice setting for hundreds more children and their siblings and parents. It will be a hub for expert end of life care, urgent respite support, essential therapies and group and play activities to help children and families.

The Build the Ark project has been greatly assisted by several inspiring individuals and by growing support from big players in the construction industry including JLL, Pears Property, Squire & Partners, RPS, Sellar Property Group, KUT, Ramboll and Gensler. All of this incredible generosity means a new hospice building will become a reality by 2019. But there is still work to be done and driving the costs down further will make a big difference. Noah’s Ark knew that many more people in the construction industry would want to help them build the Ark once they knew how valuable their support could be.

8build are thrilled to have been appointed as the Main Contractor for this project and we aim to help accelerate this progress and spread the word. We are looking for supply chain partners to price the work packages and where possible offer discounted services to reduce the construction cost. The more money that is left in the pot after the build is completed, the more children will be able to climb on board Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

This event was an opportunity for our supply chain to meet the build team and Noah’s Ark. They learnt more about this outstanding project and the upcoming opportunities for involvement in helping us make a huge difference whilst furthering their brand exposure. We have a number of PR events planned where we will recognise all of our partners and the contribution they are making across the industry.
