8build Awarded Amsprop Project in Oxford Street
After a lengthy tender process against stiff industry competition, 8build are delighted to have secured a £4,500,000 refurbishment project for Amsprop.
The building is located at 2 Harewood Place in the heart of Oxford Street, above US retail giants McDonalds and Sketchers. Despite major demolition and structural works throughout the building, the two retail units are to remain open and McDonalds will also undergo a refit. The project duration is 14 months.
The project involves an extensive structural refurbishment over 7 floors, including the addition of 200 tonne of steelwork, a new floor and roof converting the existing obsolete office space into modern offices. New M&E plant and installation works will be necessary throughout, together with the installation of a new staircase, lift shaft, toilet core and reception.
The location of the building, sequence of works, restricted access and the need to maintain the operation of the retail tenants creates unique logistical challenges on the project.
