8build are Shortlisted fo Sustainability Award for the British Land Building Together Awards
British Land has shortlisted 8build for the 2009 ‘Waste Reduction’ Award, for the management of waste during a series of fit-outs at 201 Bishopsgate and the Broadgate Tower. The Waste Management Award aims to give recognition to development projects and managed properties which have made a particular contribution towards reducing waste to landfill.
Our transition team reduced the impact to the environment, through recycling and co-ordinating waste management, which limited any unnecessary procedures and waste. Between April 2008 and December 2008, 1,746 tonnes of waste was generated onsite, of which 97% was reused, recovered or recycled.
The Building Together Awards takes place annually and nominations take place from the whole team who contribute to British Land’s corporate responsibility agenda. This year John Ritblat, former Chairman and Honorary President of British Land will be presenting the results in a lunchtime ceremony at the British Land Headquarters.
