After the successful completion of our first education project at the American Intercontinental University, we commence works at Notre Dame, our second educational project. Notre Dame, a Roman Catholic School based in SE1, has been inspected by HMI Ofsted in June 2008 and graded as ‘an outstanding school.’ They also have a specialist language college and offer music scholarships to gifted musicians.
The school is part of the Southwark Building Schools for the Future Programme and from this project they required five tired outdated classrooms to be renovated and brought up to date. The works involve a complete strip out of the classrooms followed by the installation of new walls, ceiling and floor finishes. This project also involves setting up commercial grade lighting, similar to that used in blue chip trading floor fit-outs. New wall talkers and bulletin boards will also be fitted into the walls to provide the teaching staff more area to present and demonstrate to students whilst not detracting from the fit out.
We will be working to benchmark classrooms against the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) government directive, which is the biggest ever school buildings investment programme that aims to rebuild or renew nearly every secondary school in England. This project demonstrates how we value our clients from small scale projects just as much as high value projects, providing them with advice on how best to deliver there project and meet their needs. It also exhibits our capabilities in working within tight timescales through a transparent approach as well as our commitment to helping the local community.
