8build have completed the renovation works at the City of London, Hampstead Heath Lido. The Lido originally opened in 1938 and is London’s largest open air pool.
The Grade II listed Art-deco pool remained open during WW2 and during its heyday in the 1950s and 1960s it saw more than 100,000 visitors a year, now the pool requires some much needed renovation works.
8build completed these repairs which included a number of external works, including brick work repairing, underpinning due to subsidence, replacement of metal windows and the installation of a roof walkway, alongside some internal minor M&E works and decorations.
The Corporation of London commented on our work saying: “Good overall performance in terms of quality and management/mitigation of the effect of adverse weather conditions and unforeseen additional work.”
