8build have secured their second job with The London School of Economics, the project costing £3m sees the complete refurbishment of 11 floors of Tower 1 in Holborn campus.
The works are to be carried out in 2 phases. The phase 1 works of the project comprised of the strip out to shell and core of the tower, including the removal of the majority of services from each floor and plant equipment from the roof of the building.
Phase 2 sees the fit out of 9 CAT ‘B’ floors with the generic LSE standard finishes and M&E services being added to the existing plant. In addition 2 floors will be left to CAT ‘A’ and all floors will have new toilet blocks and lift lobbies.
The project takes place in an occupied building within close proximity of other fully occupied teaching areas.
The project will enable LSE to have purpose built office and teaching space for students and administration staff within the university as part of a campus wide upgrade. Phase 2 works are due to begin shortly.
